The Governor’s Restore Hope Summit aims at engaging business and faith leaders across Arkansas in caring for kids in the state foster care system and individuals who are re-entering society from prison. The governor’s call to engage business and faith leaders cuts across differences in religion, politics, and geography, and recognizes that communities offer personal relationships, accountability, and a hope of a greater future.
The Governor’s Restore Hope Summit will include remarks from Governor Hutchinson, leadership from the Arkansas Department of Human Services and the Department of Community Correction, leaders in re-entry and foster care ministry, businesses and not-for-profit organizations, as well as keynote speakers that will inspire attendees to be Voices of Hope for our fellow Arkansans. This means more homes and mentors for foster children, and more housing and jobs for those leaving incarceration.
Finally, the Governor’s Restore Hope Summit will offer business owners, faith leaders, clergy and lay leaders alike, the tools and the ability to expand, refine, or even partner with existing programs in the local community.
The prophet Jeremiah writes in Jeremiah 29:7, But seek the welfare of the city where I have sent you into exile, and pray to the Lord on its behalf, for in its welfare you will find your welfare. We are seeking to mobilize the church in strategic areas to seek the welfare of our community. These include seeking the welfare of children, seeking the welfare of families, and seeking the welfare of neighborhoods that could use a helping hand.
We are seeking to encourage church and school partnerships through strategic partners such as STEP, AR Kids Read, and Kids Hope USA.
We invite Central Arkansas churches to continue to partner with The CALL, Project Zero, and Immerse Arkansas to become a community where there are no children waiting for a caring home.
This year want to focus on a new partnership with Safe Families for Children. Safe Families is a movement that assist church families in helping children and families Crisis.
The best way to love our children is through healthy families and marriage is God’s plan for the family. We are partnering with FamilyLife and the Central Arkansas Marriage Initiative to encourage to serve churches in the development of marriage ministry.
Serve our community
CityServe seeks to unite Central Arkansas Churches to demonstrating the love of Christ (Matt. 5:16) in a Saturday Day of Service on April 29, 2017. The focus of CityServe 2017 will be to love our neighbors by serving neighborhoods that could use a helping hand.
Let your light shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify God who is in heaven.
